Trumpy allows elephant trophies again

The Trump administration is lifting the ban on importing sport-hunted elephant trophies from several African countries, in spite of the fact that the president said in November that he would be "very hard-pressed to change his mind" on the "horror show" of sports trophies. Certain trophies, in accordance with the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), will be considered "on a case-by-case basis," according to a March 1 document that was released, but not publicized, by the Interior Department.

But the guidelines for such a case-by-case judgment aren't specified in the document. In 2014, President Obama banned the import of sport-hunted elephant trophies from Zimbabwe. However, in November 2017, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said it would begin issuing permits for these previously banned trophies. Soon after the announcement, President Trump said he would "Put big game trophy decision on hold" in a tweet.

Put big game trophy decision on hold until such time as I review all conservation facts. Under study for years. Will update soon with Secretary Zinke. Thank you!

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke responded with a tweet that said that both he and President Trump believe "conservation & healthy herds are critical."

At the time, Mr. Trump also publicly expressed his opposition to the idea of importing big-game trophies, tweeting, "Big-game trophy decision will be announced next week but will be very hard pressed to change my mind that this horror show in any way helps conservation of Elephants or any other animal."

ick

I want him in prison

and yes I would be fine with him being in a prison system that actually works

Shit, the only thing I ever gave the Orange Hog credit for was putting the kibosh on elephant murder. But I did say at the time, I did not trust him to hold to his position.

I know his sons love to murder African big game.... but really how hard is it to say no to the Elephant Murder Lobby? It should be the easiest political decision any president would ever have to make.

Trying to protect his spawn, who pay thousands to slaughter large animals?

I personally cannot see what pleasure one could derive from gunning down a majestic and intelligent animal like the elephant. I would think it would poison your soul to even attempt it.

But what I have learned about many conservatives is that they are sadists by nature. One only need recall how some of them defended water boarding as nothing more than college pranks, and how they ran cover for BushCo. and the sado-sexual humiliation of prisoners at Abu Ghraib.

I am telling you, jpp.com has provided a glimpse into the conservative mind that none of us....should ever have seen or borne witness too!

By comparison to some of the shit conservatives have defended, murdering elephants seems relatively tame at least in comparison.
