The widest 8-lane bridge in the world over the Bosphorus
Many people ask a very reasonable question: why, despite chronic inflation, Turkey manages to remain an economically developed country. Grandiose construction projects are being carried out in Turkey: bridges and tunnels connecting continents, such as the Eurasia Tunnel (the world's first two-story automobile tunnel running under the Bosphorus), dams, canals. The construction of the longest suspension bridge over the Dardanelles Strait is nearing completion. The question is, where do the funds come from in the conditions of inflation?
In my opinion, the secret lies in the fact that Turkey has managed to establish itself as a country reliable for investment. The country has a developed construction industry, and workers from Turkish construction companies successfully work in other countries. (I remember being in Moscow in 1980 and seeing Turkish construction workers working on the reconstruction of Petrovsky Passage, which surprised me. Couldn't Muscovites work in their place? It seems they couldn't under developed socialism.) Turkey is the largest player in the global construction industry. Turkish construction companies implement projects not only in their own country, but also in dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. For example, the American magazine Engineering News Record (ENR) published a list of 250 largest international construction companies, of which Turkish ones have occupied more than 40 positions in this list for several years.

Turkey produces a wide range of products of heavy and light industry, light industry and agriculture are developed. Turkish brands of household appliances and especially the clothing industry are well-known, the quality of which is at a high level. It is difficult to find an item from a ship and a car to a needle that is not produced in Turkey. All these goods are exported, for example, unlike Russia, which, except for the Kalashnikov, produces nothing for export. The tourism business also brings in considerable income. In short, Turkey fully provides itself with everything it needs, including military products. This circumstance is a reliable protection against inflation, otherwise how can one explain such a stable immunity of the country to inflation.
