On Twitter is there a way to separate by subject the messages you read or must it all come in one long feed? Basically can you separate those you deem political vs. those who cover college football for instance?

Try TweetDeck. I think that'll do it for you. There are other services as well, but I don't think you can do it within Twitter itself.

if you are on twitter, you are an idiot... that is all.

Eh, I don't tweet and I follow (at the moment) maybe 10 people. They are all pretty much cover college football. I'll look every couple of days and see what's new. Works for me.

I send little out to the world but follow quite a few people. Started using it for fantasy football purposes (you'll dominate the waiver wire), but expanded it from there. Basically, if you follow interesting people you'll be introduced to lots of good writing on different subject that you may not otherwise be exposed to. That's basically all I use it for.

Damn, not sure why I didn't think of using it for fantasy football myself. Definitely looking into that next fall. That's an excellent call.

Sounds like I'm a lot like you in terms of people I follow. I want to be able to get good information and/or links to good articles/writings. I have zero interest in people who tell me what they had for dinner or are doing this weekend.

Any politico journalists you have on your must follow list?

I've basically just always used it as a news feed or to follow important people in politics, media, etc. I don't give a shit about what my friends ate for breakfast though.
