France has just banned short-haul flights between destinations in France where rail service is available. This was done supposedly to reduce carbon emissions. Of course, private jets can still make these trips, just commercial air was banned.
Part of the reason for the ban is that flying is as cheap or cheaper, and much faster than taking the train. This meant people chose flying over train travel. So, the Left pushed by their environmentalist nutjob allies banned air travel.
