Uh-oh Audits coming!

you can school a tax auditor any day of the week. Low paying job that bottom of the barrel performers take.

I have been audited 2 times. its a joke.

Really? I'm kinda worried about that thing we talked about. Afraid I might get audited this year.

I wrote a substantial amount that was owed my business. I might get red flagged because of it.

I try not to be nervous because I try to do things by the books, but at times you can't get a straight answer even from the people at the IRS!

Audits are no big deal. Remember they get points for how many they close. You can deal with them.

Also they get annoyed by somebody with patience to wait them out. Bring knitting, or a book along with all your receipts and let them have at it. They'll let you go quickly because they can tell you are unafraid.

I am clean on taxes , I do not fear an audit.
I tell my tax gal keep my taxes clean, if I go to jail or something for tax problems it might was well be for shooting her in both feet as well. I do say it with a smile though.

This is quite true. I used to be an Investigator for the Tax Collector of the City and County of San Francisco -- City Hall, Room 104 -- and worked occasionally closely with Federal and State auditors.

They're evaluated -- or were evaluated, back then: it may have changed -- far more on the number of cases they closed than the dollars they brought in. The one caveat to that was that they would try to do most of their audits in cases where they felt they had a good chance of recovering the cost of the audit.
