Putting this under conspiracy theories as I heard it on a UK based podcast and cant find a corroborating article. The podcaster is generally accurate so maybe its true.
The report is that in discussions on central bank issues it came up that part of the solution needs to be to reduce the size of government (in addition to raising interest rates etc).
While we all know that this is certainly a great way to help address the problems its pretty much unspoken as its clearly going to be unpopular for whichever segment of the population that looks to be getting their services/freebies downsized.
I just thought it was quite refreshing to hear a western government speak the unspeakable !
