Ukraine destroys dozens of Russian warplanes with drone attack deep inside Russia​


Ukrainian forces destroyed dozens of Russian warplanes with a drone attack on air bases deep within Russian territory on Sunday.


Ukrainian forces destroyed 40 aircraft in the attack, which an official says took more than a year to orchestrate. Russia's defense ministry confirmed the attack on Sunday, saying it struck five airfields.

The operation saw drones transported in containers carried by trucks deep into Russian territory, he said. The drones reportedly hit 41 planes stationed at several airfields on Sunday afternoon, including A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22M aircraft, the official said.

Moscow has previously used Tupolev Tu-95 and Tu-22 long-range bombers to launch missiles at Ukraine, while A-50s are used to coordinate targets and detect air defenses and guided missiles.


The White House told Fox News that President Donald Trump and his administration were not warned of the attack ahead of time.

Ukraine says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally oversaw the drone attack.

"We are doing everything to protect our independence, our state and our people," Zelenskyy said in a statement......

Very nice. Most of those bombers are not even made anymore, and cannot be replaced by Russia. Sounds like over 1/3 of their entire long range bomber force was wiped out in this operation.

Because lately, taco don has been openly criticizing Putin in the press. Questioned his sanity. Called him crazy. Said he doesn't like what Putin's been doing in Ukraine bombing civilians etc, etc. This is out of the norm which we have come to expect out of the groveling taco. So what I meant was that because taco don has been sending those cues to his loyal, obedient taco lickers, they've picked up on them and are now suddenly speaking critically of taco don's master. It's like taco has given them permission.

There is still a land bridge to the Crimea, so destroying the Crimean Bridge would do little but warn the Russians of the danger. The Ukrainians need to capture the land bridge, and then at the same time destroy the Crimean Bridge. This will suddenly make the Crimea undefendable, and create a mass surrender situation. It would be the biggest victory since WWII.

Of course, the Ukrainians first need to get through a 50 mile deep minefield to close the land bridge. They need a new technology to do that. Things are moving quickly, so they may have that new technology in months... Or maybe not. Maybe never.
