Those responsible for a deadly wave of explosions across Lebanon targeting paging devices used by members of the Hezbollah militant group “must be held to account”, the UN high commissioner for human rights said on Wednesday.

“Simultaneous targeting of thousands of individuals, whether civilians or members of armed groups, without knowledge as to who was in possession of the targeted devices, their location and their surroundings at the time of the attack, violates international human rights law and, to the extent applicable, international humanitarian law,” Volker Türk said in a statement, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Whoever did this it was pretty repulsive. Clever but horrible. Like something out of a spy thriller. Unfortunately this is just more of the same. Death and horror every single day. Death and horror. Year after year after year after decade after decade century after century now...

It is really hard to figure out how to make it all stop. It does require someone to be willing to say "OK, I'm done." and not keep the eye-for-an-eye approach going.

But that's not likely primarily because it's humans involved and humans don't do that "turn the other cheek" thing very well.

So hell continues to burn.
 
BEIRUT, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Iran-backed Hezbollah said on Wednesday it attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets in the first strike at its arch-foe since pager blasts wounded thousands of its members in Lebanon and raised the prospect of a wider Middle East war.

Israel's spy agency Mossad, which has a long history of sophisticated operations on foreign soil, planted explosives inside pagers imported by Hezbollah months before Tuesday's detonations, a senior Lebanese security source and another source told Reuters.

It's this sort of shit: no decent person is cheering when Jews are murdered. There may be some loons on the Left who mirror the loons who want to destroy Israel, but honestly that isn't even close to a significant number of people. Be honest at least and grant that almost EVERYONE in this debate wants to see both parties survive and thrive.

Differences in approach doesn't mean those who disagree with you are raving anti-semites who want to see the Concentration Camps fired up again.

THIS is why humans can't possibly be expected to be adult enough to stop a war when it's gone on for about a century.
