Union scumbags nurse snow cleanup to protest budget cuts

"...New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he will investigate whether sanitation workers intentionally delayed cleanup efforts over frustrations regarding citywide budget cuts.

"It would be an outrage if it took place," Bloomberg said...

The head of New York's sanitation workers' union earlier blamed harsh winds and budget cuts as reasons for the slow response.

"We were 400 people short," said Harry Nespoli, president of the Uniformed Sanitationmen's Association. "There are certain services that should not be affected. The people pay taxes for it."

Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty said he had not seen evidence of a worker protest.

"But we have to look into that," he said...."

Will we see more of these slowdowns if the incoming Tea Party freshmen cut public spending?

If Europe's early experiences with austerity measures are anything to go by, we may. Perhaps even riots...

Don't pay any attention to Tinhead. He thinks he's the only one who should make a living wage. Most Union people are great. Did more to build this nation then Tinhead ever has.

The individuals themselves may be fine, even great, people but it doesn't mean their unioin is.

Union's are like any other institution. They are only as good as the people in it and running it. Tinhead is just a fanatical ideologue. The fact is and history bears this out, is that unions did a tremendous amount to build the middle class in this nation. There is this royal fucking hypocracy by right wingers that everyone seems to have the right to negotiate what the market will bear for goods and services except for working people. It's just plain fucking sick.
 
I heard on the news last night that there are accusations about too much snow removal equipment being pulled off their normal snow routes to prepare Times Square for New Years Eve.
