DINOSAUR! UGH!

Is it time to retire this dinosaur? It was created in the belief that it would be better to have a "professional" core of diplomats rather than "amateurs" who arrived at their post based on connections and donations to campaigns.

The United States Foreign Service consists of over 13,000 professionals. They serve at any of the 265 United States diplomatic missions around the world, including embassies, consulates, and other facilities.

Created in 1924 by the Rogers Act, the Foreign Service combined all consular and diplomatic services of the U.S. government into one administrative unit.

What is apparent based on the historical facts, is that this idea has done NOTHING to improve US diplomacy throughout the world and merely contains a bunch of prima donna's who believe their views on foriegn policy should trump those of a sitting President.

Since it's formation we have had WWII, the Cold War, The Korean War, the Vietnam War....etc etc etc. The failure of diplomacy in the ME is staggering.

Thoughts?

Yeah, we should fire all of them and hire the Trump family, imagine the millions they could make selling foreign posts, he got off cheap with Sondland's million

Absurdity; a sure sign of the last desperate refuge for liars, fools and ignorance; and those who have lost their arguments.

Can you imagine the savings if we disband the Foreign Service and go back to the way it was?

"Back to the way it was?" You mean prior to 1923? No, hate to tell you, but the world isn't the way it was in 1923, and if I remember correctly, the US's role in the world at that time wasn't productive

So the US's role today has been more productive? Be specific.

We saw a few very serious and dedicated foreign service workers testifying this week. They were very impressive and serious about their work. yeah, let's dump them and put the president's families and friends in to do the jobs of diplomacy.
How stupid are rightys?

Before 1923 we didn't have WWII, Korea, Vietnam.......etc etc etc. Sounds better to me. ;)
