US Amazon workers go on ‘largest’ strike against company

Amazon workers at seven US facilities walked off the job early on Thursday during the holiday shopping rush, aiming to pressure the retailer into contract talks with their union.

Warehouse workers in cities including New York, Atlanta and San Francisco are taking part in the “largest” strike against Amazon, said the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which represents about 10,000 workers at 10 of the firm’s facilities.

That's what I call balls. Contracts are purposely set right before the holidays to prevent union workers from coming together for a strike. Bezos better pay up or now or risk losing his ass.

I doubt Amazon has any contracts with unions, so no contracts to prevent strikes before the holidays.

Meh. Automation, plus plenty of people willing to work...the workers Bezos has now knew the deal when they were hired.

Bezos refuses to give them a contract. If you lived in the real world you'd know gig workers are struggling to stay buoyant.

Plus most of the people who do gig work tend to come of the opinion that it sucks, that life is better without like in the Good Old Days.

At the pinnacle of my career, I had a CEO tell me everyone is expendable. Five of us quit and the company went bankrupt.

Do you remember in the 80's "Oh you are going to love having 5 careers and changing jobs every few years....just think of the freedom!"?

Has not worked out that way, people tend to hate the lack of security, and how easily they are exploited.

About 5% of us run a job and the rest are workers. Not all workers are expendable. Nepotism denies that simple fact. They don't realize the cost and time it takes to replace good workers. I sign contracts to do multimillion dollar jobs because I have a proven track record. Replacing guys like me is easier said than done.

Almost everyone loses when labor is easily exploitable and the elites are degenerate enough to take advantage of their weakness.
 
The children are running all around the world abusing people trying to prop up the Empire, which does nothing but speed the collapse......it is managing the collapse that they should be working on but they are refusing to even consider doing this.
