Washington (AFP) - Two weeks after he cleared President Donald Trump in the Russia meddling investigation, Attorney General Bill Barr faces mounting pressure to show the full evidence behind his decision.

Allegations this week that the US Justice chief played down serious evidence of illegal obstruction by Trump in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's final report are fueling demands that he release the entire, unexpurgated document to Congress.

"He is a biased person," Jerry Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said of Barr in an interview Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation."

"He's a biased defender of the administration, and he's entitled to be a defender of the administration, but he is not entitled to withhold the evidence from Congress," Nadler said.

The evidence is that neither Trump, or any family member or associate was ever indicted for collusion, or "conspiracy" as leftist loons like to call it. You can't obstruct justice for a crime that never happened. Get over it, your coup attempt failed.

Barr says Trump is innocent. That would suggest that he has proof and he surely should supply it. He could end all the discussion with that overwhelming proof. Must be some reason he isn't doing it.

Legal Definition of obstruction of justice

The crime or act of willfully interfering with the process of justice and law especially by influencing, threatening, harming, or impeding a witness, potential witness, juror, or judicial or legal officer, or by furnishing false information in or otherwise impeding an investigation or legal process.

Says nothing about the investigation or legal process having to result in an indictment (although Mueller had plenty of those).

The Mueller report is a bit over 300 pages. Barr has a staff of thousands. He could go through the report in a weekend, by himself, if he simply wanted to protect the innocent and grand jury info. His job is to see how long he can block it from being seen. How does Trump get people who are willing to destroy whatever respect and history they had. Their reputations are being ruined.
