I don't know about you, but I'm a bit of a UFO/UAP buff, so I'm listening to the hearing as i write this. Go over to CSPAN if you want to watch it. It will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube soon, no doubt. You can also watch it live on NewsNation on TV.
So......
Congress, apparently after a year of dusty silence, has decided it’s time to drag some answers out of the Pentagon and whoever else has been hiding them, whether in a basement vault or the Nevada desert.
The hearing kicks off Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. ET. Witnesses include former military officials and even someone from NASA, meaning it’s not just the usual political suspects but actual experts who’ve seen, heard, or been brushed aside by the very entities who are supposed to protect the public. The goal? To shed light -- finally -- on secretive UAP programs and why the Pentagon has played this bizarre game of “we’re not saying yes, but we’re not saying no, either.”
And let’s not forget, this hearing isn’t happening in a vacuum. It follows previous testimony from former Pentagon officials who claimed, without a flicker of hesitation, that the government has hidden knowledge of extraterrestrial activities from the public. Now, if you believe in oversight, transparency, or even just basic honesty in government, this hearing should be a landmark event. And yes, you can watch the whole thing livestreamed on the House Oversight Committee’s website -- if, that is, they don’t pull the plug before the real questions even get asked.
So grab some popcorn. You might just be witnessing history... or, at the very least, the next chapter in Washington’s longest-running cover-up.
Congress is prepared to revisit the topic of UFOs once again in a Wednesday hearing that will be open to the public.
More than a year has passed since U.S. House members last heard testimony about strange craft whizzing through the nation's airspace unchecked, as well as claims about the Pentagon's reticence to divulge much of what it knows. While steps have been made toward transparency, some elected leaders say progress has been stymied by the Department of Defense's reluctance to declassify material on UFOs, which the government now refers to as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP.)
The upcoming hearing is being jointly held by Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) and Glenn Grothman (R-Wisconsin,) who was a sponsor behind a bipartisan bill to allow commercial airline pilots to report UAP sightings to the government.
In a press release on the House Oversight Committee's website, the hearing is described as an "attempt to further pull back the curtain on secret UAP research programs conducted by the U.S. government, and undisclosed findings they have yielded."
"The American people are tired of the obfuscation and refusal to release information by the federal government," Mace and Grothman said in a joint statement. "Americans deserve to understand what the government has learned about UAP sightings, and the nature of any potential threats these phenomena pose."
