USA Today Ran a Fake News Article

USA today is now owned by an hedge fund operation that is milking newspapers for their last dollars before they close up shop completely, and will say anything if there is money in it.

Almost all of the papers are owned by these kinds of fucks now.

It's all over.

Of the about to finally die all the way newspapers the only ones that might be worth looking at is NYPOST and WSJ.

I mean it might be that there are one or two others that I dont know about but this is basically where we are.

Its all downhill from here.

How do you know anyone was fooled by that? Pretty obvious even for adolescents.

The low quality....that they cant/wont produce better and that they think that this very very low quality is good enough to work....apparently.....this sticks with me.

I am insulted and I recommend that you be too.

My dad sold advertising for the Rockford Newspapers for about 15 years....Gannett bought them and then systematically over about a decade took it apart to maximize profits...his dad was a printer who adored Newspapers....the condition of Newspapers and what was in Newspapers was a subject of conversation on Thanksgiving most years...

I was a paperboy for 4.5 years, full of 430 wake-ups.

My heart hurts.

And no one could tell the difference between a Netflix publicity stunt and any other newsday, because, we have all become accustomed to fake news.

Any normal person could, teabaggers? (www.teaparty.org)

NOT so much.

Confusing an advertisement, clearly printed above the headline for a news article, then posting the same on JPP?

It's teabaggers (www.teaparty.org) that have been accustomed to fake news.

So what you're saying is USA Today has stopped being a newspaper and is now selling above-the-fold space for advertisement? Well I guess it's true the newspaper business is nearly dead.

Not fooled. Just not surprised.

Or didn't care because it's stupid and not worth thinking about. Actual fake news can be very convoluted and note noticing, this barely blipped on radar. My small town puts out a fake local story every year for April fools.

Several years back I tried to get back into my once much loved habit of reading the Sunday NYt's cover to cover. I had done for the better part of two decades when we were not oversees, it took 2-3 hours. THe project lasted three weeks....not only was the paper about 1/5 the size it had been if you count only the text, but so much of what was there was crap.

It was a hard pill.

Wait a minute, front and center, top of the page, right in the middle appears ""ADVERTISEMENT," and you are telling us "no one could tell the difference?"

You must be one of those who actually believe the guy when he proclaims "miracle cure"
