I have been discussing with @gfm7175 the 2028 Republican nominee for President. I imagined it coming down to Vance vs. Rubio, and we discussed the merits of each along with the vulnerabilities. My personal view was that Vance is currently "edging out" Rubio by a nose, but that the race is apparently in full swing, neck-and-neck.
Not anymore. I have come to the inescapable conclusion that the Vance/Rubio 2028 ticket is in the forming. Both Vance and Rubio are being deliberately placed in front of cameras acting as President pro Tempore on a regular basis. Any President who is seeking reelection will seize every such opportunity to build popularity, however Trump won't be running again (despite the insistence to the contrary by humorless leftists who never know when they are being trolled) and has already emphasized his support for both Vance and Rubio. Now we see Vance and Rubio both in front of the cameras when Trump would normally be there.
I also wish to acknowledge that there will nonetheless probably be individual campaigns with perhaps "debates" between the two, but if there are, it seems likely that they will miraculously gel into a celebratory accord whereby Vance and Rubio unite to form the 2028 Republican ticket.
It's my 2¢.
I am officially doubling down on my prediction that Vance will win the Presidency in 2028.
