Vice President Jim Webb

Anti-Iraq War Senator Jim Webb may be considered for the Vice Presidential slot on the ticket.

An Edwards/Webb ticket would be a landslide, IMO.

It's said that running mate choices don't make much difference, but an Edwards/Webb ticket makes Edwards more attractive in my opinion.

Contrast that to thje Gore/Lieberman ticket which made Gore less attractive and probably lost him enough votes to win the election in spite of the Florida fraud.

Wow, that's one I hadn't thought of. You're right, that would be a landslide ticket.

And so of course, the democratic primary voters would never nominate that ticket.

Better to go with Hillary, so the republicans have a chance, and...if she wins, nothing really changes so much.

Ha!

Ok, you have me there bac. And cypress too if he said the vp doesn't matter much.

:P

I like Hillary. And Edwards. Not to sure about Obama, though. There isn't must to say about him.

Well said Water, I agree!

lol. I just thought you might want me to write that to you, since it seems to bother you when I say it to bac.

Well, I don't like Hillary all that much, but about Obama, it's not that I think he doesn't have enough "experience", it's just that he has been so cautious. If that guy would start talking, like I know he can, and stop being so damned cautious with his finger in the wind (which scares me), I could still get behind him.

So Cypress... a one term trial Lawyer Senator as President? Actually Webb is more qualified than Plastic Fantastic Edwards.

Forget about Edwards and Obama... Hillary is a lock..... and Clark is going to be her running mate.

Which bums me out.

Since you say you've been out of the realm of political debate for a while, let me update you on all the recent national polling numbers:

In head to head matchups, Edwards crushes all the leading GOP contenders by bigger margins than Hillary does. Or than Obama does. Having Webb on the ticket with Edwards only adds to that blowout potential, IMO. Not only because Webb is a southerner, but he is exactly the type of anti-war, populist southerner that can appeal to a broad base of americans.

I agree that democrats may be stupid, and nominate hillary.

BTW: I addressed your comments about edwards experience on the other thread.

I mean, really - a lot of the things he says just seem immature. Maybe it's just me, and anyway, it's a only a personal disliking. But on top of that, he hasn't really proposed anything different, and he's even more cautious than Hillary.

Edwards is the most liberal out of the group (besides Kucinich and Gravel), but I kind of like Hillary's economic moderatism better.

Edwards is the only candidate who stands a chance of winning the upper south. The deep south is completely lost. But I can't see any area of the nation he couldn't win that either of the others could win, and on top of that, he has a southern advantage. Southerners just tend to vote for southerners. If it were Edwards vs. Guliani, actually, I could imagine Edwards winning, maybe, a few of the deeper south states (not Mississippi, I just think Mississippi would send delegates in for whoever the KKK proposes).

Then again, it does say a lot that the most electable of the group is also the white man.

I saw some polls out of freakin' deep red oklahoma, and Edwards was beating all the top GOP contenders.

:cof1:

He has to beat Obama, Hillary to even get at the GOP. And that's looking exponentally unlikely by the day.

Clark would make no sense whatsoever and I seriously doubt that he's being considered. Webb would make far more sense than Clark, but I suspect she pick Obama which would make the ticket unbeatable.

Dems cant tap Webb. Rather have a strong dem in that senate seat. Besides senator/senator tickets rarely win.
