Vince Cable to stay on as Business Secretary

Business Secretary Vince Cable will stay in cabinet despite "declaring war" on Rupert Murdoch, says Downing Street.

But he will be stripped of his powers to rule on Mr Murdoch's bid to take control of BSkyB, which will be handed to Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

Downing Street said David Cameron believed Mr Cable's comments about Mr Murdoch were "totally unacceptable and inappropriate".

Labour leader Ed Miliband said he would have sacked Mr Cable.

BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson said Downing Street's statement was a "humiliating slap in the face" for Mr Cable and although he had kept his job he was still in a "very awkward" position, with questions over his judgement after telling "complete strangers" highly sensitive political information.

What you may be unaware of is that the dirty digger owns the Sun newspaper and the Sun newspaper, at the behest of its owner, changed from leading its tit obsessed readers away from the Labour party and into the arms of Cameron. Cameron 'owes' the dirty digger big time.
Of course, I would never suggest that there is any suggestion of corruption!!! Not bloody much, there ain't!
Someone, somewhere in the world MUST declare war on Murdoch and his ilk. He is a major pollutant of the human race.
However Cameron might want to play this rather carefully. Cable could, if he so desired, break the coalition. There are enough of his party who are already considering such a move.

could you repeat that in english, thanks

David Cameron really doesn't have the power to sack Vince Cable and there's not really any Lib Dem good enough to replace him.

And the summary here really isn't very accurate as to what he actually said. I'm surprised this is from the BBC.

It does seem rather remarkable that such an experienced politician should choose to make clear his 'declaring war' on Murdoch to two absolute strangers posing as Lib Dem supporters with a hidden microphone.

We all knew the Lib Dems regarded Murdoch as too powerful a presence in the UK media sector. I reckon most people in the country are in complete agreement with that sentiment and would like to see Murdoch denied the go ahead to take full control of SkyTV. And the plan would have worked if it weren't for those pesky kids at the Daily Telegraph shooting themselves in the foot as they help their media rival.

Of course now that Cable has been stripped of his quasi-judicial responsibility to decide if this takeover is in the public interest, due to an understandable fear of legal challenges, the decision will now be taken by Jeremy Hunt, a Tory who has been sending rather obvious 'tickle-me' signals to Murdoch for the past year (although he hasn't actually been recorded sucking Murdoch's large appendage, so any decision he takes will surely be completely impartial).

Cable has been an absolute tit, damaged his reputation for competence and given Murdoch a massive hard-on this morning, which has no-doubt set Mr Hunt's parotid gland into overdrive. Well done Vince. Although he can't actually be sacked from the cabinet as he'd be far more dangerous on the back benches fomenting dissent with the rest of the Lib Dem doubters.
