Our local NBC affiliate has been running a commercial, paid for of course by some conservative PAC, warning us all of the horrors of "socialized medicine" and relating how patients in other countries have to wait for weeks, months, even till they die, before they get care. All easily debunked bullshit, of course, but you just know there are some simpletons who will believe that crap.

They may well have. The US has the 'Advantage' Plans available to Seniors. I have no problem with that.
We have 'Public' Universities and we have 'Private' Universities. No one seems to object to THAT Model.
