Wave of new Americans could play key role in Arizona midterm election

As Yesenia Cruz-Bejarano emerged from the Moose Lodge, an early voting location in South Phoenix, tears streamed down her face even as she smiled brightly with joy.

The married mother of three from Mexico, who works full-time at a local children's shelter, is among a highly diverse wave of new American voters that could play a critical role in one of the hottest political battlegrounds of the midterm elections.

More than 64,000 immigrants gained citizenship in Arizona since 2016, according to a report last month by a coalition of immigrant, labor and voting rights groups in partnership with researchers at the University of California, San Diego.

Melaku points out the 2020 presidential election in Arizona was decided by just over 10,000 votes. The voting bloc of newly-naturalized citizens is more than six times that margin.

Arizona's population of naturalized American voters is a racially and ethnically diverse mix of immigrants from all over the world. More than half immigrated from Latin America and a third came from Asia, according to the report. Both groups of new citizens have a historically high rate of voter participation.

Those who assume that they will vote D have not been paying attention.

That 'D' stands for "Delusional." American Hispanics overwhelmingly hate illegals. They derisively refer to them as 'paisa,' a term that has a similar meaning for them to backwoods hicks and the like.

Most Hispanics are dead set against illegal immigration. They despise those wanting open borders. There's a prop on the Arizona ballot this time (Prop 308) to give DACA "Dreamers" in-state tuition. My bet is it gets overwhelmingly shot down. Arizona isn't a state that's friendly to illegals.

In the last two years, the cost of housing, rent, food, gas, and everything else has shot up here significantly. Phoenix has pricey gas right now (almost $5 a gallon) all because of Democrats in California where the refineries are. You can bet that's being remembered.

So, if Democrats think these folks are going to vote for them, they are delusional.

They were warned something like 7 years ago by experts that this "Demographics is Destiny" idea was almost certainly wrong, that they were refusing to understand the situation.

The roundly refused to listen.

In the last 20 years, most Americans who are Hispanic in ethnicity have moved into the middle class. They have jobs, homes, cars, and things pretty good. They see themselves being taxed to death, see no need for government assistance--and even think it is insulting to need it--and absolutely hate that illegals, in particular, are getting a free ride from the Democrats. Many came from heavily socialist states like Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, and elsewhere. They want no part of that shit now that they are having it good in the US.

The Democrats seem to think that Hispanics are too stupid and lazy to better themselves without lots of government handouts. Man, are they fucking wrong!

Latino activists have been changing Arizona politics. The midterms are their biggest challenge yet

Organizers in the state are rushing to rally the electorate against far-right candidates as early voting gets under way

In 2020, Alejandra Gomez saw years of activism in Arizona make national headlines.

Once a Republican stronghold, the state elected a Democrat to the presidency for the first time in decades – in large part due to a grassroots movement started by young, progressive Latinx organizers like Gomez.

No, they haven't been. There's a small, whiney group of radical Leftist Hispanics of the usual suspects sort here in Arizona. They get some play in the local papers and occasionally on television but have no real juice with anyone or anything outside of the radical Left here. They don't get their candidates elected. They don't hold much, if any, sway over local politicians either.

They're mostly like mosquitos... They are annoying and suck other people's blood (money) to no useful purpose.

Here's the one mentioned by guano

She's a fucking nobody that gets attention from the Left loving media.

Well, I think having 20 of their children gunned down in TX might steer the vote back to "D", but I could be wrong.

I've been called an "idiot" for claiming the cops, many of them Hispanic were racist against the kids (some of them children of illegals) in Uvalde. You just proved my point. Latino's are racist against poorer and illegally present Latinos.

So, seriously.. FUCK ALL Y'ALL.

You MAGA fucks contradict yourself so often - it's no wonder your brains are evil mush.
