The problem we have trying to educate black kids in public school ,can best be seen in the lives of Black adults.

Most Black adults at all levels of American society cannot read or write ,at an acceptable level.

Most Afro - Americans are illiterate or semi literate. They can read the first paragraph of the sports page and the sunday cartoon page. And that´s it.
What fools a lot of whites is seeing blacks holding a paper on their way to work ,or holding one up to their faces, during break time.

They can't really read ..but they fool everyone and can bluff their way through life. Black kids see this being done and figure if the adults can find jobs without ever learning how to read a real book
then why should they bother trying to learn. In our useless ,mindless society little attention is paid to Blacks and little is ever really asked of them...

From where I sit, it looks as if it is the whites of America who are the problem, not the blacks. They invented 'the other side of the tracks'. They confined black people to ghettoes. They fought tooth and nail to retain slavery. Ever read 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee? You should.
