'We must speak truth to fascism'

We fight, We win, Am Yisrael Chai
Witness to the Holocaust. Irene Butter is a survivor who watched the rise of the Nazis as a girl in Germany. She writes a warning for Americans that their democracy is at stake and sees "echoes of the Nazis and their regime" in the insurrection at the US Capitol, which featured rioters in Holocaust-denying T-shirts and other anti-Semitic symbols.

"The disinformation, distortion and denial of human rights and democracy that resulted in the Holocaust must not happen again. We must speak truth to fascism."

"Four years ago, we could not have guessed that rioters with Nazi symbols would break into the Capitol to subvert a fairly elected president. None of us can afford to be a bystander to history. We all must confront racism and hatred when we see it. We must establish a record, encourage witnesses and others to speak out, and teach truth. Each of us can and must make a difference."

"The horrors we saw and heard in Charlottesville in 2017, with White nationalists and neo-Nazis spewing the same anti-Semitic bile we heard in the 1930s in Europe

Leftist lunatic

Historians have noted the similarities. The right is mindlessly marching into an overthrow of the government that 5 years ago they would brag about being the best ever. The difference is Trump. He poisoned the country and the dialogue. He lowered it to levels we never thought were possible. He has right-wing gnus echoing his craziness. We have to hope America survives the wanna-be dictator. Then we have to fear another one goosestepping on his footprints that led the way. We can get another one who is actually smart, unlike Donald.
America is vulnerable to fascism.

What is disturbing is that elected Republicans go along with it. Some actually believe Trump's BS; others think they can't get elected unless they pretend to.

America needs a responsible conservative party for the system to work. For five years at least it hasn't had one.

The current one needs to bleed out first

If the decent ones pull away from the massive lies and vote for Dems in the midterm a new party can form

The conservadems would happily become part of that new party

The con party needs to stop believing lies and face the past right wing ideas have been utter failure in practice

GET NEW IDEAS THAT MAY JUST WORK

TRY HELPING TO BRING THE NATION TOGETHER
