I can understand Trump"s actions. He did not have a clue, he and his staff did no work on a health program before election and it showed. He relied on Ryan and Ryan should have known better. After all Boner is no longer with us because the "freedom caucus" is and was intractable. I have listened to those guys and they are true crusaders. They really don't respond well to threats.
The second thing is that even the Ryan bill as first presented had no chance in the senate. Ryan knew that (at least I hope so) and he knew that every concession made to the freedom folks would make the bill that much less attractive for the senate. It appeared that all he wanted was a bill that would pass and to hell with what happened after that.
The only real alternative was to make concessions to that would be acceptable to democrats and lure a few over. The state of the GOP collective mind would never allow this making defeat inevitable. There is no such thing as bi partisan in the GOP mind right now. Pity.
So now the GOP owns the healthcare situation. It is theirs to fix, no one else's and so far they have flopped. They can complain all they want to about obamacare but it is still there because of their own failure. They can spin all they ant but the public is not that stupid. After all Trumpcare had only a 17% approval rating. They did not seem to care about that either and that says a lot.
There is no new bill. The GOP's fault. If Obamacare does implode it will be their fault also as they had the numbers to fix it and did not. If they pass this bill it is the same dog it was, no help there. If Obamacare does not implode that may be the worst ever. That makes them liars, or stupid, or both. And the ultimate humiliation is that ALL this should have been the work of seven years careful thought. It was and is a glued together piece of............
Trump & Co. really screwed the pooch. Maybe Ryan too will be toast, he has earned it.
Tell Trump, Welcome to the big leagues!
