‘Well, we all are going to die’: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst defends Medicaid cuts

“People will die,” a woman shouted at the stage as Ernst answered one of several questions about the cuts.

“People are not — well, we all are going to die, so for heaven’s sake,” Ernst said in a response that was met by further shouts and jeering from the crowd.

Ernst said she agrees with most of the provisions on Medicaid included in the House version of the budget reconciliation bill, saying that it was targeted at changes to the public health care program that “made it much easier to get onto Medicaid, but much tougher to take people off of Medicaid.” Ernst said many people on Medicaid currently are working full-time and have access to other benefits.

So much for the Republican claims about "the sanctity of life". :rofl2: :ROFLMAO: :rofl2:

Actually, the whole issue with Medicaid at the moment started with Obamacare and expanded Medicaid that is causing the current disaster.

https://palmettopromise.org/fact-check-medicaid-expansion-still-a-fiscal-disaster/

You see, the problem is that the Democrats--only the Democrats--created this problem. They expanded Medicaid coverage when they passed Obamacare and funded it on a decreasing basis for states that adopted it over a decade or so. This funding was initially continued by congress. Now Congress wants to end what should have already ended and let the states deal with it.

Of course, this means states, primarily blue states, are heavily impacted by the loss of federal support for this expanded Medicare program whereas most red states either limited their involvement or didn't get involved at all. For larger blue states, they face having to deal with multi-billion-dollar deficits in the program without any easy way to pay for it.

The Democrats, of course, don't want to end up the bad guys here (they are), so they are howling about how Congress needs to fund this temporary program adequately forever--or at least until they are out of office... Their sycophants in the MSM parrot this line screaming about how awful it is that the Republicans want to cut spending that was supposed to already be cut but can't be because the program was designed by retarded idiots to begin with.

What an awesome slogan for the Party of Trump! The next step is to assist those Republicans who are in pain to ascend to Heaven as quickly as possible.

Elon loves ketamine so maybe that's the best way? Fentanyl since there's so much of it?

It gets better! Think the voters will forgive her?

Ernst doubles down on Medicaid comment with sarcastic video ‘apology’

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) doubled down on a recent quip about Medicaid in a Saturday post on her Instagram story.

“Hello, everyone. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for a statement that I made yesterday at my town hall,” Ernst said in the clip, with a sarcastic tone.

On Friday, the Iowa Republican was jeered after brushing aside life or death concerns about cuts to Medicaid, a public health insurance program for low income families and individuals with disabilities.

“See I was in the process of answering a question that had been asked by an audience member, when a woman who was extremely distraught, screamed out from the back corner of the auditorium, people are going to die,” Ernst said Saturday.

“And I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that, yes, we are all going to perish from this earth. So I apologize, and I’m really, really glad that I did not have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well,” she continued.

Boy, that was really stupid of her to do!

Note to Guano the racist,
Yes, we are all going to die.

Her solution on healthcare for the poor is Jesus: “For those that would like to see eternal and everlasting life, I encourage you to embrace my lord and savior, Jesus Christ".

TBH, letting poor kids die and go to Jesus rather than spend a buck on a vaccination doesn't seem very Christian to me.
