By that, I mean the Trump voters that were hoping that Trump would somehow mature and grow into the job of President. These folks were glad to see Trump surround himself with intelligent and patriotic generals (minus Flynn), hoping that these men could somehow restrain Trump from his bombastic tendencies and be the adults in the room. Now that these adults are gone from the administration and the cabinet will soon be nothing more than "All the President's 'Yes' Men", I wonder what they think now?

They are emotionally involved with Trump and any criticisms are taken at an emotional level.Slamming Trump is like slamming them personally and it angers them. They get defensive.
