What did Maobama know and when did he know it?

The Fourth institution is largely a branch of the Democratic Party. It is a shame, but in the age of information ignorance is a choice. Too bad so many in America choose ignorance.

They do?

I thought FOX News was #1?

Are you saying watching FOX News is choosing "ignorance"?

#1 in Cable doesn't change the reality. ABC/NBC/CBS are a behemoth and are not among those considered Cable News. When they are firmly in the court of one of the parties it tends to limit the information that most Americans get, and most of them choose not to look any further.

From 2007?

And your citation says this:

Polls show more people say they “regularly” get news from cable. Source: Nielsen Media Research

Any desperate attempt to grasp a straw... And yeah, it was from 2007, but it doesn't change the numbers. More than 10 times the people watch the networks than all of the cable news combined.

You mean more than 10 times the people WATCHED the networks BACK IN 2006.

Got any RECENT numbers? Will you be quoting any stats from the 90's next?

Again, that same straw grasped. Reality: 10 times more watched the Network News than the Cable News.

Reality, from your own link:

Again, same straw grasped. Reality: Ratings show that 10 times more watch the network news than Cable News. You can keep grasping that same straw but the data simply shows the massive difference between the Networks and Cable and show shy they are listed separately. The most watched show on Cable nets 250K or so viewers, shows on the Networks 7 Million...

Are you making a claim that the numbers have changed significantly? Prove it.

I am saying your numbers are suspect due to their age and if you want to be taken seriously then you need some more current ratings figures.

The TV/cable ratings scene has changed dramatically since 06.

YOU cited numbers from 06...it is incumbent upon YOU to prove their relevance today.

I also understand your response is just a standard deflection so you don't have to support your claims.

Stating the same unverified claim repeatedly makes it so?

Reality: You haven't shown those ratings. Are you going to?

Reality, I did. But I can again...

Pelley's third-place newscast reached an average of 5.55 million viewers during his first five weeks in the anchor chair, an increase of 7 percent over the same five weeks in 2010 when Katie Couric was the anchor, the Nielsen Co. said.

During the same time, Brian Williams' "Nightly News" on NBC averaged 7.88 million people watching each night, and ABC's "World News" with Diane Sawyer had 7.12 million, Nielsen said. In both cases, that's a 5 percent increase over last year.

And that is just one show... Just one beats all of the Cable News Networks put together...

Funny...these are the links you posted in this thread earlier...

Since your earlier links referenced 2007 data and the two you just posted - for the first time - are from 2011 & 2012, where'd you get "I did. But I can again..."?
You wanted more recent data, so I found some. Unfortunately I haven't yet found a conglomeration like the 2007 one with a nice chart that even you can understand.

And where in your links does it say 10X more people watch network news than cable news?
That wasn't what was asked for there. In my post that was quoted I noted the disparity in Cable viewers even for the most popular shows as compared to the Network News shows. I supplied links that showed shows in the same time slot with the disparity of viewers. However in it you can actually add them up, divide and you will get right around 10% watching the Cable News as opposed to the Network News.

Shoot, let's pretend I am wrong and it is 15%, it still supports my premise.

The reality is most people watch the network news. While regular watchers (those who don't just watch prime time) will tune in to Cable News (because it isn't always available on the Networks) even with that people watch the Network News 10 times more than they watch all of the Cable News combined.

I've provided full numbers, charts, etc. to support my premise while you have provided nothing.

What is your premise? Do you believe, even after being shown the reality, that more people watch Cable News than the Networks?

Reality: You still haven't proven your claim that 10X more people watch network news shows than all cable news combined, as far as I can tell.

Nice use of mod powers to change your post after the fact, BTW.

Because it was the second time I posted links to data supporting my premise. That is "again".

Reality: You still haven't proven your claim that 10X more people watch network news shows than all cable news combined, as far as I can tell.
Actually, I have. What is your premise here?

Not if the links in question were never posted until after the fact.

Actually, I have. What is your premise here?

Having trouble with reading and comprehension? What's that syndrome you used to claim I was afflicted with?
