This article made me laugh a lot. It’s so typical Trump!

“s an academic historian, I never expected to find myself in a videoconference with Donald Trump. But one afternoon last summer—a day after C-SPAN released a poll of historians who ranked him just above Franklin Pierce, Andrew Johnson, and James Buchanan, our country’s worst chief executives—he popped up in a Zoom box and told me and some of my colleagues about the 45th presidency from his point of view. He spoke calmly. “We’ve had some great people; we’ve had some people that weren’t so great. That’s understandable,” he told us. “That’s true with, I guess, every administration. But overall, we had tremendous, tremendous success.”

My favorite part, at the end:

"After answering our questions for half an hour, Trump ended the conversation by thanking us: “I hope it’s going to be a No. 1 best seller!” It was certainly an upbeat way to sign off, though I wasn’t quite convinced he meant it. A few days after our meeting, Trump announced that he would stop doing interviews with authors, because they had been a “total waste of time.” He added: “These writers are often bad people who write whatever comes to their mind or fits their agenda. It has nothing to do with facts or reality.”"

IOW he won't talk to anyone who won't write flattering fiction about him.

It just cracks me up he thought he could dazzle them with his “facts”. He’s such a giant ego, and so insecure.

He is. I noticed the comment from the author about how neither W nor Obama contacted any historians writing about their presidencies.

This is why he refuses to testify in front of congress. He is a nut whose brainlet wanders when he talks. He cannot keep things straight. He has the worst memory in history and he lies repeatedly.

Today, this is Trump's spot on Hollywood's walk of fame! Tells all!

This is why I do not believe there was seven hours of radio silence on the White House phone logs from Jan. 6.

Trump couldn't stay off the phone or zoom for seven hours on a normal day, let alone a day he inspired a seditious inserection.

And the article saying that the records were "missing" actually answered why it wasn't true as the records they said were "missing" were for cell phones, etc. and they were in the WH using landlines, etc.

folks really should read the articles rather than the headlines. They'd be so much better informed.

So he used cell phones to avoid an official recording of the calls to the log, but that doesn’t explain the missing calls to Mike Lee and Pence which were made on official WH lines.

Mystery had surrounded the gap in records on the day the US Capitol was breached by a mob of Donald Trump's supporters.

Trump reportedly placed the call to Lee from an official White House number, but it didn’t show up in the presidential daily diary or the White House call logs, the Guardian reported.
The White House call logs have a gap of more than seven hours on Jan. 6, from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m., which includes the time during which the riot took place, CBS News and the Washington Post reported this week. Additionally, the Guardian reported, a call between Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy—during which McCarthy begged Trump to call off the rioters and Trump reportedly told him that the rioters “are more upset about the election than you are”—was missing from the logs.”

I am sure you know how much damage Trump has done to the records acts. Trump flushed records, ripped them into shreds, and chewed some. Trump has been hiding his action from the public and the law whenever he could. The presidential communications are records kept for posterity. Trump does not care about that. Trying to keep his plot to overthrow the government is a logical spot for him to act as he normally does. Hide what he does .
Trump did not allow his discussions with Putin to be transcribed. He used only Putin's translator. I do not think Trump is acting harmlessly in regards to the law and the public.

The claim is not that pages are missing. The claim is that there is a seven-hour gap between calls that were recorded in the morning, and when they resumed recording calls in the evening.

"Some details of that day's phone calls listed in the log — and some of those missing from the log — have also been previously reported.

"For example, a call between Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and a call between Trump and Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., during the afternoon while the Capitol was under threat from the pro-Trump mob were revealed in the days and weeks after Jan. 6, but they are not reflected in the log."

I read that Trump and his coconspirators were using burner phones. That is what a guy who was planning on committing a crime would do.
Trump also said people pleading the 5th were showning their guilt and Trumps people have flogged the 5th to death.
