There has been a lot of discussion of late as to whether a sitting president can be indicted or not. All we currently have is DOJ guidance which says that a sitting president cannot be indicted. Given that this issue has never been challenged, we really don't know for sure.
That said, what if Trump actually went off the deep end one day and actually did shoot somebody on 5th Avenue (which he has boated that he could get away with in the past)? What would happen?
My believe is that he would be charged, tried, convicted and jailed. As such, this seems to strongly refute the DOJ guideline of not indicting a sitting president. Just my thoughts on the matter.
