What Is To Prevent Drug Makers From Creating Designer Diseases (and releasing them) Just So They Can Offer And Profit From The Remedy?

I have no proof this has ever been done.

I can also see nothing illegal about it.

There are definitely a lot of very unscrupulous people out there.

We have seen a lot of people in this world with no moral compass looking for any way to profit that is not illegal.

How long will it be (if it has not already occurred) until we see somebody like Martin Shkreli think of this diabolical idea and carry it out?

Only if you are a low IQ dolt. Yeah, a drug company is going to ask it's employees to design something that hurts people and believes it could keep it secret from EVERYONE and not get sued out of existence.

Well I suppose anybody could be charged with anything. If it wasn't a life-threatening disease then attempted murder is out. Perhaps battery?

As far as specifics go, there is no law which specifically makes this idea illegal.

And, as we have seen, you get somebody with the morals of Trump and any gray area is fair game in their view.
