What reasons could people have to not support...

Immigration laws that seek to prevent the illegal entry of foreign nationals into America and laws that require ID to prove identify and citizenship status before voting?

My cynical mind says the reasons could only be nefarious but being the kind and gentle person I am I would l love to hear from people who oppose immigration and voter ID laws.

How about if an illegal comes into the country, uses our electrical system and lives in our country ILLEGALLY working and makes millions of dollars doing it?

Would you be against that person?

Meet: ELON MUSK who did not have the appropriate visa after he dropped out of college meaning he was working in the US ILLEGALLY.

We'll see if you actually support strong laws against Illegal Immigrants.

Reductio ad absurdum argument. You find one exception and make that the rule. I'd rather make the rule, remove the millions of illegals with a 6th to 8th grade education, that have no job skills, and are a net drain on the economy. We can deal with the handful of successful ones later.

I'm confident that there is but one overriding reason to oppose voter identification requirements. It's obvious who's opposing it.

meet cockroach 63 - who claims anything to be absolutely true if it helps his fellow cockroaches

Reductio ad absurdum argument.

that isn't what a reductio is. And yes, Musk was working here illegally when he worked on the thing that made him a millionaire. Laws are laws.

You find one exception and make that the rule.

that one exception is YOUR GUY. YOUR GUY broke the laws you want to throw others in jail for. There isn't anything else to see here.

I'd rather make the rule, remove the millions of illegals with a 6th to 8th grade education, that have no job skills

Except they don't compete against you. Folks like Musk DO.

Enforce the laws. Save American jobs.

, and are a net drain on the economy. We can deal with the handful of successful ones later.

So if someone robs a liquor store and invests the money to become a millionaire you would call that being a "success"?

If elons here illegally then he should be the first one thrown out. I'm not a brain dead leftist

deal with what? Even if they could prove he was once a drug dealer - you shouldn't arrest him for what he did in the past.

the claim is he was once illegal- but he is certainly legal now. so this is just idiots being babies

Yes it is. You reduced an argument about what to do with millions of illegals to one questionable case.

Musk isn't "(MY) GUY." I want illegals removed, and if that requires jailing them before their hearings, etc., sobeit. As for Musk's case, you can't use immigration laws ex post facto on someone, any more than some other law. If Musk was here illegally for a period, he matches many persons who were talented, educated, skilled, and otherwise highly employable and desirable as an immigrant in finding a way to legalize his status and gain citizenship.

On the other hand, we have millions here who are stupid, uneducated, barely employable or unemployable, and represent everything we don't need in an immigrant. This sort rarely tries to legalize their status because, for starters, they have no clue how to do that.
Except they don't compete against you. Folks like Musk DO.

They compete with other Americans who could do their jobs and probably would if paid a bit more than some illegal is willing to work for. Musk doesn't compete with me either. He's an innovator and built a business empire from the ground up. He didn't take other's jobs, he created completely new ones.

The concept of jobs and the economy being of an un-fixed size completely eludes the Left's thinking. To the Left, the pie is a fixed size and how you divide it up is what matters.

I agree. Enforce the laws.

An incomplete comparison in the form of a No True Scotsman. The Kennedy family made their millions as bootleggers during Prohibition. I'd say they were successful. So, someone robs a liquor store and becomes a millionaire because of it is pretty much being successful. Also a criminal, but successful.

Here's a successful bank robber on Johnny Carson. He's probably the most successful bank robber in US history.

No, that's not a reductio ad absurdum. Sorry. Try again.

So dancing around. You don't really believe the immigration laws should be enforced. You just want CERTAIN people to have the laws enforced against 'em.

On the other hand, we have millions here who are stupid, uneducated, barely employable or unemployable, and represent everything we don't need in an immigrant.

Is that why countless Americans PAY THEM EVERY SINGLE DAY TO WORK DAY IN AND DAY OUT?

I agree. Enforce the laws.

No you don't. You just danced around JUSTIFYING Elon Musk breaking the same laws you want enforced against Mexicans.

You guys can't even own your own positions! Gah!

Let's start with you proving that Musk was an illegal immigrant.

Snopes says it's uncertain

Forbes says it's about his status to work in the US.

Maybe if you stamp your feet you can convince yourself that you're correct.
