I voted for Presidend Obama so I could go to Cuba, he WON, when can I go???

I think all you lefties should just MOVE to Cuba...I'm sure Castro will welcome you with open arms..:clink:

I have a new friend, just met him a week ago. His name is Tico. He is Cuban American, his father and Grandfather were born in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. He has family still in Cuba. While this is by no means a scientific poll, he indicates that a majority ofhis family on both sides of the Keys want the embargo to remain in effect. That by lifting the embargo we would solidify the Castro regime. They would be able to pay off all their debts to everyone, and businesses would move in and start paying tribute to Castro et al and that form of Totalitarianism would never go away. Sort of like China.

So what you are saying is that ALL Cubans oppose the lifting of sanctions?

Did I say all. I said this one particular family. And here Ithought you could read. I personally vacilate. Most of my desire to lift the embargo is selfish. Travel and cigars. I guess MOST of the time I think that if we trade with Vietnam and China we should trade with Cuba. Just thought it was intersting to hear that there are cubans in Cuba that support the continued embargo.

No... you were so abundantly clear on the fact that you were providing anecdotal evidence, that I felt compelled to be a smart ass.

Is it our job to ensure that "that form of Totalitarinism" will go away?

Yeah, you get a Cuban tourist card and that is placed inside your passport and is stamped. It is easily removed when you fly back to Canada, or for those of you interested in cheaper flights, from Mexico.
