Taliban fighters in a brave attack on so-called Afghan peace gathering the National Consultative Peace Jirga, on Wednesday exposed the security lapse and displayed their inflexibility towards the USA-initiated reconciliation process.
The fighters in a surprise move infiltrated into the fortified zone and began attacking the avenue of the Peace Jirga where full proof security measures have been put on place.
All roads and streets leading to the jirga avenue have been closed and anyone passes the area is strictly checked.
The attack began with gun shots and firing rockets Tuesday morning just minutes after conclusion of puppet President Hamid Karzai's speech to the audience.
Immediately after gun battle eruption, Taliban outfit claimed of responsibility.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in talks with media via telephone from undisclosed locations said that four fighters equipped with suicide vests and small arms occupied a building and by targeting the jirga had derailed the process.
Even though, the officials deny the claim.
