Miles Pfeffer, an 18 year old white son of a local Republican official, and fervent trump supporter, went into Philadelphia to sell drugs, once again, not buy, but sell. He found out that he did not have enough money to buy the next load of drugs from his rural dealers, so he tried to car jack a car to sell. He was looking for a car with four wheel drive, because that is important in the rural areas he and his dealers live.
Temple University Police Officer Christopher Fitzgerald(Black and Hispanic) caught Pfeffer, but Pfeffer fought back. Pfeffer then shot Fitzgerald repeatedly, tried to steal his gun, and went on to car jack a car(with the four wheel drive he was looking for). He lost control of the car, and then fled on foot. Finally he called his mother who drove out, picked him up, and took him back to his family's 20 acre farm. His mother and father helped him wash the blood off him, and later said they expected such problems in "crime infested" Philadelphia.
Crime rates have been dropping for a while in the cities, but they are skyrocketing among rural whites. Part of the problem is that rural courts let local white defendants off lightly. Pfeffer had no official criminal history, even though he had been arrested more than a dozen times for drug dealing and assault with a deadly weapon.
