The government shutdown has reached its third-week mark, and little progress has been made to end it. During a panel discussion with CNN’s Jake Tapper, reporter Pamela Brown revealed that White House aides believe the shutdown is a “losing battle politically.”

Trump has refused to back down from his demand for a border wall in exchange to reopen the government, and White House aides say the fight is only getting worse
“The president thinks he is winning the PR fight,” Tapper said.

“He is clearly cherry picking what he wants to see from these polls. Most, if not every poll says Americans do blame him for the government shutdown so the reporting is that he believes he is winning the PR battle,” Brown said.

She added, “I can tell you from sources that I speak to — that in the White House that’s not the feeling. The president may be telling aides that. He may be telling himself that, as he stews alone in the White House and tweets. But people are concerned this is a losing battle politically, and that it’s only going to get worse now that workers are not getting their paychecks.”

Trump's AVERAGE of the major polls is dropping.

The last I checked he only has the approval of 41.4% of voters, and falling as the shut down persists.

I'm sure they do, probably thought it was a bad idea to begin with, would have loved to see their faces when Trump lost it an declared on TV that he would any a shutdown, actually be proud to own the shutdown

And of course Trump thinks he's winning the PR fight because he is tuned in to the likes of "Fox and Friends," eventually he will see the reality and agree to some compromise. It matters little to him, he'll just go out the next day and say he won, and the Trumpkins will believe him
