‘Whites for Ron Paul’
would that be a racist slogan?
would that be a racist slogan?
No disrespect intended to you personally but this type of question has obviously been asked in many different ways on this board and it all comes back to the same answer. Whites have been the dominate racial group (and economic group, power etc.) in the country since its founding. Thus most U.S. History is basically white history and why they have a black history month to celebrate those accomplishments that don't get acknowledged in most history textbooks. It's why black students in my high school could wear shirts that said, "It's a black thing, you wouldn't understand" and no one looks twice but if a white person wore a similar shirt that replaced black with white there would be problems. It's why hispanics can have a bumper sticker that says Hispanic for Ron Paul and it will be viewed differently than if that sticker said Whites for Ron Paul.
Now I'm not saying you have to agree with this but this is basically why there is a difference. So almost every form of the question 'would this be racist if a white person instead of a black/hispanic/asian/NA etc.' comes back to this premise.

Well, bust my buttons! This is good, Cawacko.

It's really like being in bizzaro world. I can't believe Cawacko actually has this firm of a grasp of this. Honestly, it's deeply disconcerting. Almost like if a dog came up to you and asked for directions. It sounds cool, but...really really eerie.
LOL!!!! Cawacko knows what's up! Haha.
They had a black student union at my high school. They held an after school discussion once entitled 'Is the Black Student Union Racist?' (I think it was one of Yurt's older sibilings that came up with the topic). Just kidding Yurt. I'll never forget it because instead of easing into the discussion the first question was can there be a white student union? Fortunately no fights or really heated discussions occurred but it was a real good meeting.
i tried to join the black student union in HS....they denied my request, despite my girlfriend being a member. thus, i was not allowed to take the field trip to SF. maybe that saved me from becoming a complete nutter.![]()
Why am I not surprised that you'd be the jackass white guy who wants to join the black student union inhigh school?
