Who here has Comcast Xfinity cable?

If so, what's your favorite among the audio music channels?

I've done long stints on the "blues" and the "jazz" channels,

but for the past year or so, I've been enjoying the ""singers and swing" channel a lot.

I would like a few fewer singers and more instrumental swing, but the singers are really good.

It's not really my generation's music--

I'm old but most of the people who liked this music are dead--

but I seem to like it a lot.

I heard that Comcast's newest DVR/cable boxes don't even have separate audio outputs, just HDML.

That would really suck since I've never used my TVs internal audio
which is pretty bad compared to my hi fi system.

Wow. I know SOME of us have to be living in Comcast territory,

so I'm guessing that we have a lot of cord cutters on this forum.

Cable is dying, and I hate what's taking its place.

Getting old sucks in so many ways for unadaptable people like myself.

I admit to being a little surprised that nobody else seems to listen to the audio music channels on Comcast.

I don't know why, though.

Maybe I shouldn't be.

The forum has a lot of subscribers from outside of my demographic, obviously.

I had them but dropped them, I am now on YouTube TV. Spotify is better able to narrow to my likes and dislikes. I used to have those channels playing in the background, but now I'm using a dozen or so Sonos speakers. I also have Sirius radio, which is great for music, news, sports. I actually listen to the rainfall channel to get to sleep at night. Those Sonos speakers are THE BOMB.

I had Sirius radio in my car, but used it so infrequently that I eventually discontinued the subscription.

I'm not a background music person.
If I like it, it distracts me while doing something else...like deriving.
If I don't like it, it's just background noise.

Perhaps the only exception is if I'm on my laptop,
which as we all hopefully know,
is never important.

Usually, when I have music on,
I'm either sitting down and either listening to it as my primary activity
or I'm letting it put me me gently to sleep, which is also good.

My speakers for TV and music are JBL JRX 225s.

They're pretty basic--not esoteric or anything--
but my ears are nearly eight decades old so they're perfect for me.

I use apple music myself.

With bluetooth I can connect it to anything.

It's only 5.99 a month with millions of songs I believe.
