Who is being described here?

BTW, this thread isn't meant to be a knock on Vance (I think he's done a great job so far as both senator and VP).

It's simply meant as a data point to bring awareness to how his rise to prominence is eerily similar to Obama's. Whether it "means anything" or not is TBD.

What exactly is the point to your OP?
See my post #41. People are quite aware of "Obama's story" by now (which is why gmark's first instinct was to get all riled up about me making what he called "another attack Obama thread"), but people are much less aware of JD Vance's story (and how eerily similar it is to Obama's).
Are you fawning over JD Vance?
No. While I do think that he's done a rather remarkable job so far as both Senator and Vice President, I'm actually bringing up a data point about his "story" that might give reason to question him. I'm simply providing information so that people can make their own informed decisions about how they view him. I'm asking people to be (or otherwise remain) skeptical about politicians, even the ones that they view favorably.

He changed his tune about Trump which should be the reason to be skeptical. As per my question in post #2 he called Trump American's Hitler.

FTFY

But yes, that's another 'data point' to consider. He DOES have a history of various negative comments towards Trump. It seems that he's changed his mind since then (maybe upon receiving new information about Trump?).

It's not at all unheard of for people, over time, to change their opinions about something upon receiving additional information. Thus, I'm not really bothered by his past comments about Trump. In this case, it seems to me like he simply changed his mind.

I'm more concerned about his Peter Thiel monetary connection than I am about his past comments about Trump.
