I have been for a while now, based on events in my life.

Death does not scare me at all, though pain does.

Pain is inevitable suffering is optional. Fear of death is meaningless because it's coming whether I'm scared or not but I plan to live as long and as healthy as possible

While dying can be painful, undignified, or even ignominious, being dead can't be anything to fear.

Death is the cessation of existence as a living organism
and thus has to bring the ultimate peace.

Once our kids were self-sufficient and their inheritance secure,
our deaths would only hurt them to the extent that they missed us
as their mother and I miss our own parents.

As ashes, we won't have consciousness to miss them.

Pain sucks. Better to have a quick and painless end. Everyone should have an exit strategy.

I'm still marveling at this sentence. Six words, zero actual meaning.

Are you suggesting that someone can feel pain but not suffer from it? Are you someone who enjoys pain? A masochist or something?

I think (am rather sure) that life in America will continue to get worse for a long time.....my big fear is that I will stick around too long.

A bigger fear is that in the event of nuclear war I dont die immediately.
