It was one of the funniest things I've seen for quite a while, the fact that it is German in origin is not only surprising but very refreshing.

When political correctness became a religion in the 1980s, poor old Benny was screwed. What is incredibly strange is that his shows were screened in over 100 countries, but not in the UK. It is only latterly, after his death, that his comedy has been reassessed. He was a comic genius, in my opinion, and also a product of the music hall culture. You judge him too harshly, in my opinion. Maybe some of these clips will convince you otherwise?
