He does that because he bears a lot of the responsibility himself, since he played a sort of shell game to sneak funding to the Chinese for gain of function research. That type of research is illegal in the US, isn't it?
Remember how he ridiculed anyone who speculated that Covid-19 originated in a Chinese lab early on? He knew that it came from that lab all along.

I didn't "forget" them, but as evil as they are, they didn't create or spread the virus themselves.
In fact, at first, the leftist media and many DEMOCRATS downplayed the Chinese disease.
For example:
- Former Blue York Shitty Mayor DEMOCRAT de Blasio and his health top official repeatedly downplayed the coronavirus threat while imploring citizens to "get on with their lives".
- DEMOCRAT de Blasio and his top health official were telling their shitizens to take the subway and attend parades after President Trump restricted travel to coronavirus-plagued Red China.
- DEMOCRAT De Blasio and New York City Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot took turns telling Blue Yorkers in February and March 2020 that the virus was not as widespread as people thought.
