Oops I forgot to mention that you are correct, the Monroe Doctine is significantly different from the Bush Doctine in that it contains only THREE enunciated ideas, UNLESS you want to lump in the Roosevelt Corollary which SOME historians do.
The three major areas of concern in the Monroe doctrine deal with European Colonization in the Americas, Non-intervention in European problems unless they are our problems too or cause us problems, and the right to use force on any European attempt at colonizing the America's. The last of which was expounded on by Teddy Roosevelt, not FDR. So you are right, they are different, but they do have multiple parts. Thus endeth the lesson.
