If Republicans belive that we are safer when everyone has a weapon... Why so much securtiy, just get everyone to bring in an AK...?

undoubtedly you're just trying to be a prick, but technically and legally, florida is not an open carry state, therefore only concealed weapons can be carried. I don't see anyone capable of concealing an AK.

Wellllll, you could take off the stock and wear a really big trench coat... Admittedly it's florida so you'd be dead of heat exhaustion before you took four steps, but I guess it could be done.

They do want to be responsible for the killing of every MSM newscaster at the convention. Could you imagine if they were all armed and Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton or Rachel Maddow walked by, talk about open season.

I thought the secret service did not allow weapons in an area around the President or VP (or in this case potential future President and VP) regardless of what the states rules are?

Canceled weapons are allowed, just no water guns, sling shots or other dangerous weapons

In any case the republicans don't want rifles in their convention so bringing any kind of rifle is grounds to be removed from the premises.

not inside the secret service secured zone. see, politicians are special and because most of you proles are easily brainwashed in to thinking that all anyone ever wants to do is assassinate people (why else would anyone want to own a high powered assault sniper weapon that can take down jetliners), they can make rules that provide them greater protections and you idiots will happily clap and cheer about it.

yes, in case you haven't noticed lately, I know gun laws almost as well as captain billy does. If one wishes to exercise gun rights, one needs to know every little thing about them so as not to land ones self in jail, much to the glee of anti gunners.
