Why is the far right obsessed with gay marriage, abortion, and evolution?

Of all the issues facing our country, these should be the least of our concerns. The far right is completely obsessed with denying equality, regulating women's uteruses, and forcing their religious fairy tales into science classrooms. Equally disturbing is the fact that nobody can be elected President unless they say they believe in Jesus. It's fucking insane.

What is the motivating factor behind this obsession? Hatred, or fear perhaps?

I think it has to do with fear, lots of fear.
 
Definitely fear. I think the reaction because of fear leads to statements and sometimes acts that are/can be construed as hatred, but fear is the underlying element, I think. Please realize that I am generalizing here. I'm sure that there are specific people who would fall into the hatred category but I think that the vast majority fall into the fear column.

And THAT is the fact of the matter......
If not for Poet, gays would never be mentioned....
If not for Darla, abortion would not be an issue here
If not for AWipe, we would discussing more important matters....
