Why Is The Left

So afraid of Thompson?

Gee, I wonder who is planting all those negative news stories about poor Fred? It must be the lefties! They are so scared of him.

YOu have to see the pics, they're hysterical.

Anti-Thompson Site Connects to Romney Camp
A top adviser to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney appears to be behind today's launch of a new Web site attacking GOP presidential rival Fred Thompson.

The site, www.phoneyfred.org, paints an unflattering picture of Thompson, dubbing him: Fancy Fred, Five O'clock Fred, Flip-Flop Fred, McCain Fred, Moron Fred, Playboy Fred, Pro-Choice Fred, Son-of-a-Fred and Trial Lawyer Fred. [View an image of the Web site]

Shortly after a Washington Post reporter made inquiries about the site to the Romney campaign, the site was taken down.

Before it vanished, the front page of the website featured a picture of a regal Thompson dressed in a frilly outfit more befitting a Gilbert and Sullivan production than a presidential campaign. Under the heading, "Playboy Fred," the site asks the question: "Once a Pro-Choice Skirt Chaser, Now Standard Bearer of the Religious Right?"

Nowhere on the site does it indicate who is responsible for it. But a series of inquiries leads directly to the website of Under the Power Lines, the political consulting firm of Warren Tompkins, Romney's lead consultant in South Carolina.

I don't know, that's what Damo said yesterday.
I said it because every one of the stories were promoted on the site from only the lefty posters. It began to appear to me that they seemed afraid of some guy that hadn't declared until two days before, or so...

You came up with the idea that it was the righties, and I agreed it was likely. Just as likely as my opinion that it is the left with most of the negative stories at this time against HillBilly and Obama.

LMAO!

I think Gramps is an empty suit, myself. But, republicans seem to like empty suits, and actors with minimual intellectual skills but can be trained to repeat about half a dozen talking points over and over. So, we will see.

Personally, I think the guy looks older than McCain. Old as dirt. And american don't want old presidents. At least Reagan was a very good-looking 69 years when he was inaugerated.

Personally, I'm really afraid of a Brownback/Tancredo ticket. I pray every night, the GOP doesn't nominate those intellectual powerhouses.

I was just saying that to get a rise out of you Damo.

Anyway, don't you guys think the website they put up was pretty damned funny? Fancy Fred? LOL. But wow, pretty stupid at covering their tracks.

It was stupid. They had a picture of him in period garb, when he played Ben Franklin in something. They called it "Playboy Fred"...

Seriously weak. There are better reasons to mock Fred.

LOL Yeah right!

About Thompson, I don't know, I did think he was going to be more formidable, but you are right, he is aging fast and he looks like an old man already. It won't help his having a younger-looking than she is wife standing next to him. I mean she is already 25 years younger than him, she looks younger than she is, he looks older than he is, you do the math. It's like, what is this guy married to his freaking grandaughter? It gets to the point where it's absurd.

I'm unsure about what kind of threat he would be, at this point. I'm just observing.

Well, I thought it was funny. I liked Fancy Fred the best.

I've been waiting for him to really speak on the issues so I can know what we face in the Primaries.

Yeah well, I think you've got a long wait Damo.

He doesn't look to me like he is dying to run an issues-driven campaign, or frankly, to discuss issues at all. He looks like he wants to get there on image, all hat, no cattle,

IF he doesn't die during the primaries he'll surely be hospitalized before the election.
Mitt might be afreaid of him, I doubt any of the young dems are scared.
People are waiting for the guy they remember from law and order.
20yrs later the only thing the same is his royalty check from the reruns.

Fred would be the easiest to beat, a third rate Regean wanna bee.:clink:

That was the way Bush did and he won....

I actually found that he and Gore actually answered more questions on policy during the debates than I ever saw between Clinton and his opponents.

Most of the Clinton/Bush or Dole Debates went this way:

Sir, how do you feel about <insert important issue of the day here>:

Answer: Well, that is an important issue, and I think we should deal with it. Just the other day I met a person who spoke to me about an unrelated issue that has nothing to do with this question, I then told him "<Insert prepared statement on an entirely different subject than what the question was about here>"....

LMAO!
