The Debate
Heidegger held the most important question to be "why is there something rather than nothing?" Hawking believes science will one day provide an answer. But is this a delusion? Is explaining creation beyond us or is there really a chance we can solve the greatest mystery of all?

The Panel
Bestselling author of A Universe From Nothing Lawrence Krauss and CERN physicist John Ellis contemplate the origins of existence with Sea of Faith author Don Cupitt.

dude thanks for posting this.

Lawrence krauss gives solitary lecture on this topic as well, you can find it on youtube, I highly recommend watching it.

I.believe our consiousness moves on after we pass. Where aw go and.what we do depends on our spiritual maturity.

that would be awesome but having not one shred of proof there is something like a soul I just cant design my life around that.

I do think humans have a responsibility to learn all they can and help all they can.

We live to learn so we can learn to live.

being a good person as much as you can as often as you can.

NOT judging others so you can give your self a ticket out of helping them.

Not pretending your life is more precious than any other humans walking this earths lives.

There are great rewards in believing and acting on these ideas.

they don't involve getting a bonus for your good efforts after you die but that is not the aim of my philosophy.

I think that makes my motives even more pure.

I would say it is beyond us for the obvious reason. We weren't there to observe it.

BTW, I've met Lawrence Krauss several times. He helped to lead a political action committee in Ohio when Repubs on the State board of education wanted to permit teaching ID. I was one of the local volunteers for Franklin, county. Lawrence is a brilliant man. Very likable too.

My life is no more, or less important than any other's.

I do my best not to judge others....I haven't spent a second in another person's shoes....how can one accurately judge another on only what you see?

I don't seek reward here. Other than my job. I don't do good because of some kind of Golden Ticket. According to my beliefs, the ticket is already punched. I do good because it's the right thing to do.
