WHy is this guy still Pope?

So it is clear now that the current Pope, knew a Priest in his parrish had abused a deaf child and that he was merely transfered to a new assignment, not defroked or fired, or decomished or whatever they do with these guys.

It is also clear that the current Pope sent memos about while he was a Bishop regarding the importance of keeping these abuses secret...

1) WHy do Catholics tolerate him remaining Pope.

2) Why has he not been arrested for his implication in covering up and allowing these continueing crimes.

Because the Church is filled with faithful like Southern Man who don't have a problem with this.

Pedophiles talk, they even make groups like NAMBLA. They will use places like the church to gain access and know that they will be covered. Actions like this from the church only ensures more of the perverts will seek to be frocked. It's plain stupid, they should be turned over to police as soon as the crime is found out.

Italy doesnt have juries....

also, the pope is not going to be kicked out of office/tried, because:

1. Popes are in 'power' until death and there were only 2 who ever resigned (last one somewhere in the early 1400s)
2. The Pope is the sovereign head of state of the Holy See, also known as the Vatican.

Also, I would stipulate that the pope, like anyone else, be held innocent until proven guilty.
