Why no big show? Why no red carpet treatment?

Last time Zelensky was attacked by Vance, et al. Why treat our ally so much better than our adversary?

It was comical watching how quickly Zelensky and the other European leaders picked up on how to manipulate Trump, butter his ego, just like his cabinet meetings, tell him how great is, what great things he does, a narcissist loves nothing better than praise, even if it is toadyism, besides Trump can’t tell the difference
