Why Republicans are desperate to keep the white status quo as it disintegrates

The collective white part of the American electorate has always had priority over others and, at some points in history, even codified the denial of others’ political participation into law. Think Jim Crow. Think voter suppression. Generations have fought and died to push us toward a more equitable future where traditionally marginalized voices can be heard, but it’s only now in modern history that their electoral power has been able to be wielded in truly substantial and significant numbers.


Republicans know that the numbers are not in their favor, not now, nor in the near future and they are desperately trying to preserve the majority white status quo that is disintegrating before our very eyes.

The GOP knows that democracy and full voting does not favor their policies. Trump condemned mail in ballots with no evidence of fraud.

Maybe 2020 is the year that Texas flips.

It is a foregone conclusion that it will flip blue, only a matter of when.

DT wants to limit the vote. He knows that if there is strong voter participation he is toast.

Another black representative that could only get elected because his district was gerrymandered with a black majority just died. The idiots of his district elected him solely based on skin color

Why do you sidestep getting help by choosing candidates based on race? You'll support a black based solely on skin color for whatever reason. It could be that you think it's a qualification. It could be because you're so guilt ridden for being white you think you owe it to blacks.
