- Epstein case: A top Justice Department official, Todd Blanche, said he was pursuing an interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, the former socialite sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually exploit underage girls, to answer questions about the case. A lawyer for Ms. Maxwell confirmed the talks announced by Mr. Blanche, the No. 2 official at the department and a former defense attorney for Mr. Trump. Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday said the House would not vote this summer on a measure calling for more disclosure of material related to the investigation, and the chamber is effectively paralyzed as Democrats vow to force such a vote if Republicans attempt to do any legislative business.
