Will Gore Run?

Mott the Hoople

Sweet Jane
Probably not the first time this thread comes up. I say the chances are about like......zero.....that he won't run.

Mr. Gore is many things but first and foremost he's a politician and this is what politicians do. They run for office. Mr. Gore will run of that you can be certain.

I don't think he will run, IMO

It seems that democrats are still dreaming up new failed candidates as the republicans are.

Gore won't run because he knows he can't beat the Clinton machine.

I'm pretty sure that Gore won't run until 2012 because he can see the writing on the wall. Whomever takes over will take an enormous hit after dealing with Iraq as well as working towards shoring up the dollar and other problem areas that we face right now.

If we get a democratic president, then Gore can't run in 2012. You don't win a primary against a sitting president, you know?

But it's true that the next President is as close as you can get to being doomed. I don't know what's going to happen.

I'm almsot positive Gore won't run.. near the 90% range.

Despite the awards he's been given, winning a Nobel Peace Prize won't give him more votes, it only is a moral victory for the Democrats that he won that and makes them feel good. That won't translate into votes, but since the Dems are high on him now, he could take a chunk out of Hillary's numbers and become the primary front runner. If he's going to run, he should have announced by now or we would have been hearing hints of him running by now, while he is high in the hearts of the Dem voters.

*Clarification - I was referring to General Election Votes. He should pick up primary votes with the Prize but not General Election...

I hope he runs too. When is it too late, after the first primary?

No. It's not to late to run till after the convention. Technically speaking, Mr. Gore could decide not to run in the primary's at all, could go to the Democratic national convention and convince the delegates to vote for him. Unlikely to happen but it is certainly possible.

What's more realistic is that if Mr. Gore was very, very unhappy with who the party's nominee is, he could go to the convention, with huge public support and disrupt it or have a major impact on the selection process.

No, I meant practically!!! Certainly you don't think he can sit back and let the dominant front runner collect several primary victory's before declairing?:clink:
