windows users

Not unless my clients make me :)

lol.. well i am going to wait atleast 1 1/2 years before i role it out to all my users, but i will have a few around for testing.

it seems to work a lil better then i had anticipated

ya, there will always be backdoors and exploits, whats nice about windows is that they arnt afraid to admit it and patch it.

Yeah lots of patches. My work PC has Mirimba auto download in it and it is downloading a new patch and installing it every few days at most.

No way. I wait for the Service Release Two before I ever delve into a Windows product.
Damned straight! And even then, you patch your dev boxes first . . . and then wait a week.

Anyone else remember NT 4, sp 4? <*shudder!*> That evil fucker took my company's whole service down for almost a full day.

oh ya.. i know what your talking about. hell i still have a few 98 pc around here:eek: .. as of now my plans arnt including vista or longhorn until late 09 or 10...

Burning CD's and DVD's, less restrictions....
Heck I have one PC with SUN UNIX on it.
I don't have any Win3.1 machines though.

I still have a 98SE pc setup. It has it's uses...

lol.. an oversized paper weight ? j/k 98 is a decent os for avg tasks... but it is just too much of security risk to keep around any longer atleast in the bussniss, plus it is alot easier to manage pc's with win 2000 and up

My first PC was a commodore VIC-20 :)

Before that I messed around with HP mini's and mainframe stuff.
A state of the art mini with a whole 32K of magnetic core ram. and a removable hard drive pack that actually held one meg of data.
We did a lot with it. Ran Basic, Fortran, algol, Cobol, etc on this HP mini's.
I learned Pascal on my Commodores....
It was nice when we moved up to the ones that ran off of electricity :D
